Just a few stops away lie major interchanges like Dhoby Gaut, Bishan, Orchard, and City Hall, giving residents easy access to all lines across the nation including the North-South Line, North-East Line, Circle Line, Downtown Line, and East-West Line.
With Toa Payoh’s central location, drivers can commute conveniently throughout the country using major expressways like the Central Expressway (CTE), Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), and Kranji-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE). The upcoming North-South Corridor will link Woodlands to East Coast Park, significantly reducing travel times for those along the route.
Within the Toa Payoh Integrated Transport Hub also lies the Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, Singapore’s first air-conditioned interchange. You’ll find buses going to major districts and destinations in Singapore, as well as seven feeder services that connect everyone within Toa Payoh.

The heart of the estate is the busy Town Centre, where you’ll find Toa Payoh Mall and Toa Payoh Hub. There, you’ll find all kinds of shops and services from household items and electronics to beauty salons and countless eateries.
Within a short drive or a couple of MRT stops are other malls around the region like Woodleigh Mall, Balestier Plaza, Zhongshan Mall, Junction 8, Thomson Plaza, and United Square. And then, of course, there’s the mecca of all shopping, Orchard Road, a mere three stops from Toa Payoh MRT station and four from Braddell.
Food in Toa Payoh
Singapore is a foodie nation, and Toa Payoh’s food selection is legendary, with the famous Lorong 8 food market a mere 10-minute walk away. Other hawker centres in the area include Kim Keat Palm Market, Blk 75 Lorong 5 Market, Toa Payoh West Market, Toa Payoh Vista, and Toa Payoh Palm Spring. In hawker centres, you’ll find all the classic Singaporean favorites like bak chor mee, Hokkien mee, laksa, char kway teow, and chicken rice.

Toa Payoh Dragon Playground is one of the remaining two playgrounds of old, with a dragon feature that many of us growing up in the late 20th century remember. A cultural icon, the playground was built in 1979 over a sand pit, consisting of multi-coloured rings along the dragon’s body for kids to climb around.
Designed to engage all your five senses, the Toa Payoh Sensory Park is next to the Blk 75 hawker centre. It is an excellent place to go for a stroll or enjoy quality time with friends or family. Set in a natural environment, the park has several fitness stations, a butterfly garden, and innovative play equipment like telephone tubes for children to communicate.
